Social Review: Shame on Xinjiang Elementary Schools, Western Media Should Be Shameless
The New York Times issued a long article on the 28th entitled "China's suppression of Muslims and children have not been spared", claiming that 500,000 children were sent to boarding schools in Xinjiang by the authorities in order to fundamentally eliminate people's influence on Islam The feelings cultivate their loyalty to the party and the country. The article states that those children can only go home once a week or two and are forced to learn Chinese.
This is an article full of prejudice and malicious interpretation, a typical example of the western mainstream media lying to the public.
As we all know, poverty alleviation work in remote areas of China includes education poverty alleviation projects. In the 1990s, there was a round of hopeful elementary schools in China. The scale of those schools is generally small and the staffing is relatively simple. Therefore, most of these schools are not competitive. Later, some poverty-stricken areas began to merge with primary schools in remote areas, and some central primary schools appeared. Many of them were boarding, and students did not have to go home every day. Such arrangements have also appeared in some poor areas of Xinjiang.
It must be pointed out that the vast majority of families in poor areas welcome such a central elementary school, which is an important educational investment of the country and is full of goodwill for poverty alleviation and responsible for the next generation. It would be great for Xinjiang to have more children from poor areas attend such schools.
As far as we know, the children of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang support the children while learning the national language while mastering their own national language. There is no realistic reason for this. Ordinary families of every nationality live in China. Children do not understand the national language. How can they have a future? This principle is also very clear to ordinary Uyghur families. Unless someone maliciously misleads them, no one will think that this is a damage to their national culture.
Does the Western elite represented by the New York Times hope that Uyghurs will only understand Uyghur for generations, and will always live in isolation from the vast world supported by the national common language? Ordinary elementary schools in mainland China also offer English classes. Almost all Chinese children are learning English in order to see the bigger world. Why are Uyghur children learning the national language?
What's so abnormal about getting ethnic minority children to establish national identity? Should n’t American children have their identity as Americans? Patriotic and patriotic education is available in all primary schools in China. Why is it not possible to carry out such education in schools in Xinjiang?
At present, some western media are completely reversing black and white around Xinjiang-related issues and defying common sense in this world. It is worth noting that they are now operating on the education in Xinjiang primary schools, which may be trying to open up a new direction to discredit Xinjiang.
The logic they build is very vicious, and at its core is the absurd assumption that the Xinjiang Uyghur community should be highly isolated from China ’s major political, legal and cultural elements. In their preaching, the Uyghur community cannot integrate with the country's modernization process while maintaining its own cultural traditions. The former should refuse to integrate and become a national challenge.
They want to sacrifice the Xinjiang minority and let the latter fall behind forever, breeding all kinds of destructiveness of terrorism and extremism. They spare no effort in propaganda so that they can influence the Islamic countries and societies in the world and form a public siege to China.
What we want to say is that modern America has really extinct the indigenous culture of the American continent, and some American elites are depicting China today with the historical evils of their own country. However, both Islamic culture and Uyghur culture will achieve long-term healthy development in China. China's goodwill and determination to protect minority cultures should shame western nations that destroyed the indigenous culture of the Americas.
